David DeVasto (b. 1979) has presented works in the United States, Europe and Australia, including at the IAEF International Summer Arts Institute, the Council for Undergraduate Research, Society of Composers, the SPLICE Institute, Charlotte New Music Festival, Christian Fellowship of Art Music Composers, Electronic Music Midwest, the Iowa Composers Forum, Nevada Encounters of New Music, the Electro-Acoustic Barn Dance and the Electro-Acoustic Juke Joint.

DeVasto’s music has been performed and broadcast from coast to coast in North America and internationally in Europe, Asia, and Africa. He has received commissions from Duo Tandem, Avanti Trio and Picosa, and he received first prize for the 2015 International Composition Competition of The Classical Guitar Society of Victoria. His works are published by the SCI Journal of Music Scores and Bergmann Edition, and recordings of his compositions appear on Navona Records.  Additionally, DeVasto is featured as a pianist on several albums, including Dreams of Pangea (Southport Records) and Reflection (Flitterswift), featuring renowned jazz saxophonist Mark Colby.

DeVasto earned his Ph.D. from the University of Iowa in 2009, and he is currently an associate professor of music theory and composition at Elmhurst.
