Mark Harbold teaches music history and composition. He is a composer, author, teacher, software developer and performing musician. Before coming to Elmhurst, he taught at colleges and universities in Buffalo and Rochester, New York; Northfield, Minnesota and Milwaukee. He has numerous writing credits, including editing five editions of the Instructor’s Resource Manual to Accompany LISTEN. At Elmhurst, Doc Harbold has taught courses in music theory, history, technology, appreciation and composition. He supervises the music history program and is one of the coordinators for theory and composition programs. He received the President’s Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1994.
